Virginia Military Institute

Applying to VMI is a bit different from a traditional college. Here’s a quick rundown of some things you should know now:

  • We accept the VMI application and the Common App
  • Applicants must pass a medical evaluation as part of the admission process
  • A personal interview (in-person or virtual) is highly recommended, but not required
  • Letters of recommendation are required, so it is important for students to identify those contacts early
  • Qualified applicants receive a conditional appointment to VMI rather than a traditional admission offer

Once your student is ready to apply, the admissions team is here to help along the way!
